we left la pesse (old word for a spruce tree) after buying a stack of cheese and drove up to the bison auberge to get some bison saucisses. the road was icy but lou negotiated well.
the nasty knocking sound from the front wheel we had heard when he moved the car the first morning was not heard again so we assume something had frozen and defrosted!
driving down we entered fog which lasted until we got near geneva. signs to drive 20k under the speed limits to lessen the pollution was grim to see after three days in crystal clear mountain air, especially as we were adding to it no doubt!
the gps found the hotel despite trying to take us down no entries and there was off street parking.
dumping our bags we ate lunch in a nearby sports bar/restaurant and tried to watch the lunchtime news on a distant tv screen. the female star of 'the artist' had won best actress at the french cesars it appears. i saw the film the night before we came away and loved it!
off to gill's where we had a lovely afternoon and evening with the extended family and with no need to leave for the bus (usually to get back to the campsite!) managed to have some good conversations. we left laden with as much stuff as which we'd arrived and got back to the hotel at gone midnight.
a sunny and very quiet sunday morning, breakfast and the drive home. the weather got sunnier and warmer the further west we drove. at crouzillou ginge met us with wails whilst marmalade watched from next door's garden with a mouse hanging from his jaws. we're home! :)
