no, the hotel wouldn't let me cancel the booking despite the fact they still haven't taken the dosh out of my account. c'est la vie, put ear plugs on the shopping list. meanwhile we have been booking more hotels and trains plus a coat for yours truly. today we travelled up to the auvergne to trawl the shops at the ski resort of le lioran for various items still desired! a successful morning and we got to enjoy some glorious sunshine. onward, onward.....
